Inauguration Orthodox Theology Chair University in Bialystok       The Senat of University in Bialystok was resolved to resolution about creation of Orthodox Theology Chair on October 14, 1998. On January 13, 1999, Senat of the University was resolved to resolution about maked conditions to creation of the Orthodox Theology Chair on day February 1, 1999. His Beatitude Eminence SAWA, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, professor of the theology, is a chairman. The Chair is a interfaculty unit, direct subordinate to President (in Polish: Rector) of the University. In chair began worked two professors, two doctors and assistant. Nowadays, in chair worked two professors and three doctors (His Eminence Metropolitan prof. SAWA - chairman, and also father prof. Marian Bendza, father Ph.D. Jerzy Tofiluk, father Ph.D. Henryk Paprocki, father Ph.D. Doroteusz Sawicki).
    The Orthodox Theology Chair University in Bialystok is a interfaculty unit, direct subordinate to President (in Polish: Rector) of the University. Orthodox Culture Centre at Sw. Mikolaja 5 street is a residence of the Chair. The Three Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, John Chrysostom, is a Heaven's Protectors of the Chair. He is continuation of scientific theologian research guaided at interwar period by Orthodox Theology Study Warsaw University (1924-1939).

    The Orthodox Theology Chair University in Bialystok was began activity on March 5, 1999. Inauguration take placed in great holl of the University in Bialystok, in building of Filology and History Deparment. At inauguration take parted: prof. Adam Jamroz, President of the University, His Beatitude Eminence prof. SAWA, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, head of the Orthodox Theology Chair, His Excellence Most Reverend Jakub, Bishop of Bialystok-Gdansk Diocese, His Excellence Most Reverend Gregory, Bishop of Bielsk, Bishop Edward Ozorowski (head of the Romano-Catholic Theology Chair), and other guests. At ceremony take part also choir of the University in Bialystok and choir of the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Bialystok.
